Deola Dada

Deola Dada Pilania (1611–1643) was a warrior and folk deity of the Pilania clan. He was born at Pilani in Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan, and died at Jhojhu Kalan, Haryana, in 1643. He is worshipped as a folk deity, with a temple dedicated to him at Jhojhu Kalan.

· Early Life

Deola Dada Pilania was born in 1611 at Pilani. His father was Ram Singh Pilania and his mother was Raj Kaur Pilania. He belonged to the Pilania clan. He had three brothers — Pratap Pilania, Uday Pilania, and Ratan Pilania.

 · The Defence of Lilawati's Cattle

While returning from a visit to his samdhi Chhajju Ram, he encountered a group of butchers taking away the cattle of Lilawati, a Gujjar woman. He intervened to protect the cattle and confronted the group. His brothers Pratap, Uday, and Ratan joined him. A battle followed in defence of Lilawati's cattle.

· Death

He died in battle in 1643 at Jhojhu Kalan, Haryana, at the age of 32. His brothers Pratap Pilania, Uday Pilania, and Ratan Pilania also died during the same encounter.

· Rampyari

His horse was named Rampyari. Rampyari was a white mare given to him by his father Ram Singh Pilania.
